A 47-year-old truck driver, Peter Mwaniki, has scooped Sh102 million SportPesa Mega Jackpot after correctly predicting the outcomes of all 15 matches in the latest 15/15 jackpot draw held last Sunday.
For nearly two decades, Mwaniki, who hails from Nakuru County, has spent most of his time working long hours behind the wheel of a truck, travelling across different routes to provide for his family.
Mwaniki, a father of four, becomes the first person this year to win the SportPesa Mega Jackpot, marking a major turning point in his life after spending nearly two decades working in the transport industry to make a living.
“I did not expect that the Sunday football jackpot would change my future,” he posed.
In an unexpected twist, Mwaniki did not initially realise he had won the jackpot. He only learnt of his victory after SportPesa contacted him and informed him that he had correctly predicted all 15 match results.
“I did not know that I had won. I only realised after SportPesa reached out to me and informed me that I had correctly predicted all 15 match results, securing one of the country’s biggest jackpots prizes this year,” he revealed.

Mwaniki revealed that he has spent nearly 20 years, working behind the wheel and travelling along different routes to provide for his family.
He said the Sh102 million windfall would give his family an opportunity to improve their lives, secure their children’s future and make long-term financial plans that will ensure a stable future.
“I have spent most of my adult life working hard to provide for my family, so this is something I never imagined would happen. My first thoughts were about my wife and children. I want them to have opportunities that perhaps I could not always afford to give them and to know that their future is more secure.
This money gives us a chance to make some important decisions as a family and plan for the years ahead. I am truly grateful,” said Mwaniki.
Despite the life-changing win, Mwaniki said he would not rush into making major financial decisions, adding that he plans to maintain his normal routine as he considers the best way to put his newfound fortune to use.
“I don’t have any immediate plans. This came as a surprise, and I don’t want to make any rushed decisions. I’ll continue with my day-to-day job for at least the next five months, as I take time to consider my next course of action,” he said.
Speaking during the unveiling of the winner, SportPesa Head of Marketing Esther Kange’the said Mwaniki’s story reflected the significance of the Mega Jackpot and the excitement surrounding the moment when a winner finally emerges.
“Every jackpot winner has a unique story, and Peter’s is particularly special. Behind the Sh102 million prize is a father who has spent years working to provide for his family. We recognise what this moment means to him and those who depend on him, and we hope he uses this opportunity to make thoughtful decisions that will benefit his family for years to come.
“The Mega Jackpot remains one of our flagship products, and it is always a significant moment when someone correctly predicts all the results and claims the top prize. We congratulate Peter and wish him and his family the very best as they begin this new chapter,” Esther added.
Mwaniki was unveiled alongside Caroline Nyakundi and Gaudencia Sella, who won Sh2.19 and Sh3.5 million, respectively, in Mega Jackpot bonuses, further highlighting the different prize categories associated with the competition.
His win adds a new chapter to the SportPesa Mega Jackpot, one of the country’s most followed football prediction competitions.
And the Jackpot continues to turn the outcome of football matches into a potentially life-changing moment for a participant who correctly predicts every result.
