A 21-year-old man was found dead inside a house in Cieko, Sunton, Nairobi, in an incident being investigated as suspected murder.

Police said the body of Feruz Husein was discovered in a one-bedroom house on Wednesday, September 30, after a report was made at Sunton Police Station at about 3:30 pm.

A team of police visited the scene and found the house locked from outside.

After breaking the padlock, the officers discovered that the house was filled with leaking gas from a 13-kilogramme cylinder, which had allegedly been hidden near a wardrobe in the bedroom.

Husein’s body was found lying on the bed in a supine position. Police said there were no visible physical injuries on the body.

Neighbours told investigators that a man was seen leaving the house at about 8am on Wednesday on a motorcycle and riding to an unknown destination.

No neighbours reported hearing any commotion from the house or suspecting that anything was wrong.

Crime scene investigators documented the scene, while the body was moved to the Kenyatta University mortuary pending a postmortem examination.

Police have launched investigations to establish the circumstances surrounding Husein’s death and the role, if any, of the man reported to have left the house.

And a 42-year-old man was found dead with suspected stab wounds near his rented home in Aluor, Gem-Wagai Sub-County, Siaya County.

Police said George Omondi Otieno was found lying in a pool of blood on a footpath behind St Cecilia Aluor Girls on Wednesday morning, September 30.

Police visited the scene and found the body with two visible stab wounds believed to have been inflicted using a sharp object.

The deceased’s wife, told police that Otieno had left home at about 7:30pm on Tuesday, September 29, saying he was going to Kambare Centre to meet friends.

His wife discovered his body on the footpath near their home the following morning.

Police processed the scene as investigations were launched to establish the circumstances surrounding the killing and identify the assailant.

Otieno’s body was moved to Bondo Sub-County Hospital mortuary pending an autopsy.
