Jubilee Group has appointed Juan Cazcarra as its next Group Chief Executive Officer, effective December 1, 2026. Cazcarra will succeed Dr. Julius Kipngetich, who is stepping down on November 30, 2026, after eight years at the helm.

The appointment marks an internal succession for the NSE-listed insurer. Cazcarra, who joined Jubilee Group in July 2021, has served as Deputy Group CEO since April 2025. Over his five years with the company, he has been a key architect of Jubilee’s digital transformation strategy, focusing on simplifying core processes, driving operational efficiency, and elevating customer service delivery across regional markets.

Cazcarra has held senior leadership posts across Europe, Southeast Asia, and Africa. He holds a Master of Business Administration from Universidad Pontificia Comillas (ICADE) and a law degree from the Universidad de Zaragoza in Spain.

Jubilee Group Chairman Zul Abdul expressed confidence in the incoming chief executive, noting that Cazcarra’s background makes him well-equipped to drive the company’s forward strategy.

“Having worked closely with the Group’s leadership and contributed to our progress, Juan brings extensive industry experience, institutional knowledge, and a clear understanding of our business and ambitions,” Abdul said. “We are confident in his ability to build on our achievements and lead the Group through its next phase of growth.”

Founded in 1937, Jubilee Group is one of the region’s oldest and largest financial institutions, serving over 1.4 million customers across Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, and Burundi through its life, health, and asset management subsidiaries.
