Sharon Otieno’s parents plead for non-custodial sentence for Obado

The parents of slain journalism student Sharon Otieno are asking the court to spare former Migori Governor Okoth Obado a prison sentence, pleading for a non-custodial sentence eight years after their daughter’s murder shocked the nation. However, for his co-convicts, Michael Oyamo and Caspal Obiero, the family wants the court to impose the full extent of the law. The three will learn their fate on November 27, when Lady Justice Cecilia Githua delivers their sentences. Brenda Wanga reports.
